<summary type="text">Hanover, the 18th of April 2012The German Taijiquan Open are the first official German Championships in Taijiquan (Tai-chi-chuan): www.germantaijiquanopen.de. In the Chinese country of origin and in the rest of Europe competitions in Taijiquan already have a longstanding tradition. Now several organizations cooperate under the patronage of the German Taijiquan and Qigong Netzwork (TQN) to establish these national German Championships. The competition will feature forms and push hands, the latter of which is a kind of standing-wrestling. The competition will take place from the 25th to the 27th of May 2012. Nils Klug, one of the main organizers of the event, states: We would like to establish this professional tournament here in Germany and let it win recognition and positive resonance abroad to help all Taijiquan enthusiasts to meet, compete and exchange in a friendly atmosphere! The city of Hanover became the venue for the tournament early on. Konstantin Berberich from the CTND explains this: In our view the international connections, the infrastructure and central position of Hanover alone make it one of the best choices as a venue for the event. Also the green surroundings and nice atmosphere around the Centre for University Sports close to the famous Hanover gardens give it a very positive feeling in general.Jan Leminsky from WuWei further points out the importance for a first-time competition in Taijiquan: Tournaments present a great opportunity to boost your motivation to train. They also help test your skills. Thus we hope that the Taijiquan skills of all participants will in the long run benefit from the German Taijiquan Open (GTO) and that the tournament will also help to present our art on a wider scale to the public.Venue: Zentrum für Hochschulsport (ZfH), Am Moritzwinkel 6, 30167 Hanover, GermanyThe organizers:Taiji Europa, the European Portal for Taiji and Qigong WuWei, the Competence-Center for Tai Chi and Qi Gong Chen-Style Taijiquan Network Germany (CTND)In close cooperation with the Taijiquan &amp; Qigong Netzwerk Deutschland e.V.
